The Winter’s Edge Ear Warmer will be your favorite go to pattern, to make and to wear! This Tunisian crochet stitch design makes alternating boxes of stitches, and is a stretchy fabric. I hope you love it as much as I do!

I started this design at the beach recently and really love how it turned out. The design came together quickly for this ear warmer. The twist is very fashionable and comfortable to wear too.
I love the look of this twist on the front. It’s simple to make and I have a video demonstrating how to make it.
Tunisian crochet closely resembles knit fabric but it’s made with a long hook instead of two needles.
I decided to make a knit version too, click HERE for that free pattern.
This attractive twist is made by sewing the two edges together which is actually the seam. The rest of the ear warmer is seamless. I try to design so there are no visible seams, whenever possible.

Continue in pattern repeat as above, except finish off each stitch with a sl st across until all stitches are worked off your hook and 1 loop remains.
End off yarn, leave a long tail for seaming.
SEAMING: Watch video for demonstration on how to seam the twist HERE.
Lay fabric out flat with RS facing up. Fold each end towards the center of the fabric. Then fold one end in half and next, fold the other end in half. Slide the two folded ends together and even out the stitches. It should have four edges lined up. Using the long tail from above, thread it on the yarn needle. Sew the four edges together. End off yarn, weave in ends. Turn fabric RS out.
EDGING:
With Wrong Side facing, use two strands of yarn held together, attach with a slip stitch to edge of ear warmer, at the seam. Slip stitch in each st around, end off at other side of seam. Repeat for other edge. End off yarn, weave in all ends.
End of Pattern.
