Crochet Video: How To Crochet Tunisian Knit Stitch

Are you new to Tunisian crochet? Then you’ve come to the right place! I have a step-by-step beginner video to show you how to make the Tunisian Knit Stitch. This looks like rows and rows of V’s, or like a knitted fabric. It’s amazing what you can do with a Tunisian crochet hook, right?!
What makes Tunisian crochet different is your hook is longer and carries the live loops, or stitches, on your hook like you do when knitting. One complete row is really a two row process which contains a Forward Pass and a Return Pass. This stitch is a one row repeat so it’s easy to learn and to make.
Tips:
- The amount of beginning stitches may differ than shown in the video, refer to the individual pattern for the stitch count that you need to begin with.
- Use a larger hook than the yarn calls for to have some drape and prevent some curling on the edges.
- Practice your tension for a few rows before you begin your project.
- When you have picked up all the stitches on your forward pass, count them to make sure you haven’t skipped any.

Any yarn and corresponding crochet hook.
