Snow Bound Beanie – Free Crochet Pattern
The Snow Bound Beanie is a warm hat to keep you cozy in the snow. Made in Tunisian crochet stitches for a dense fabric without any holes. There are several stitch videos to guide you through if you’re new to this.

Easy to customize the size by adjusting your starting chain for the width, or amount of rows for the length.
I used Red Heart Gemstone yarn for this square in the color Diamond. You can use any colors you like, or make one in a solid color.
I’m so excited to be part of the Scarf of the Month CAL with Ooombawka Design Crochet and The Stitchin’ Mommy!
To make Tunisian crochet, gather up all of your stitches onto your hook, and then crochet them off to complete one row.
There’s a matching scarf to go with it too. Check it out HERE.

Instructions
General Notes
- Worked in rows, A & B to complete one row.
- Use an Afghan/Tunisian crochet hook with a cable.
- Do not turn. Right Side (RS) is always facing you.
- The brim will naturally roll up to form a nice edge, this will take away some of the height. To adjust, make more or less rows.
- Size Small – ch 56; Medium – ch 58; Large – ch 60.
- Stitch multiple = 2 chains.

Seam
Thread the long 24 inch tail on a yarn needle. Match up the rows and line them up. Whip stitch edge from brim to crown using the long tail. Next, weave thread around the top stitches, or crown of hat, to form a circle. Pull tight to close the top of hat, make a knot to secure, end off yarn.
Embellish
Attach a pom-pom to the crown, which is optional.
