This pattern is written for 60 hexagons, but you can easily make it bigger or smaller to fit your needs. Just remember to adjust the yarn quantities.
Start by making the yarn snowflakes and weave in all your ends. Then follow the Join-As-You-Go (jaygo) assembly chart to crochet these beauties together. It is a fast design to complete.
Each hexagon is only six rounds, including the join.

Snowflake Instructions
IMPORTANT NOTE
DO NOT make each hexagon all the way through the final round of green and then come back to see how to join them. The final round of green is the joining round.
With the exception of hexagon #1 only.
Make 60 snowflakes – through round 4 only.
Color A – Ch 4, sl st to beg ch to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 12 sc in ring, sl st to beg sc. (12 sc).
Note: Using two Colors (A & B) for Round 2, untwist the yarn every couple of loops to keep it separated and easier to work with. The current Color on hook is worked in front of the dropped Color.
Round 2: (RS) Color A (White) Ch 4, drop loop off hook. Add Color B (Red) in next st with ssc, ch 6, drop loop off hook, push ch to back, *Color A (White): pick up loop onto hook, sc in next st, ch 4, drop loop off hook. Color B (Red): pick up loop onto hook, sc in next st, ch 6, drop loop off hook*, Repeat *-* around to last 2 loops. With last Color A (White), sc in last open st, sl st in first 2 chs of next white loop, 1 sc in same white ch sp-place stitch marker in sc just made to mark beg of round, ch 4, drop loop off hook, Color B (Red) pick up loop onto hook, sl st to base of beg red ssc. (6 loops of each Color). End off Color B only.
Round 3: Pick up Color A (White) loop onto hook, *[1 sc, picot, 1 sc] in red ch-6 loop, ch 4, 1 sc in white ch-4 loop, ch 4*, repeat *-* around, end with sl st to beg sc. (6 picots, 12 ch 4 loops).
Round 4: Ch 7 (counts as ch 3, 1 fptr), *sk ch-4 sp, sc in next picot, ch 3, sk ch-4 sp, fptr around sc, ch 3*, repeat *-* around, end with sl st to 4th ch of beg ch-7.
(6 fptr, 6 sc, 12 ch-3 loops). End off Color A. Remove stitch marker.
Weave in all ends as you complete each snowflake. Make 60 up to this point.
Make the Snowflake into a Hexagon
Once you have your 60 snowflakes made and ends woven in, begin with the green rounds. There are only two short rounds in the green, and the second round is joining them together. That’s where all the magic happens and your blanket starts forming really quickly.
Hexagon #1 ONLY
Color C (Green) – With slip knot on hook, begin in any ch-3 sp following a sc st, with a shdc st as part of the first 4 hdc.
Round 1: *[4 hdc in ch-3 sp] 2x, [hdc, ch 2, hdc] in sc*, repeat *-* around, end with sl st to beg st.
Totals = 60 hdc, 6 ch-2 sps, 1 sl st.
One Side = 10 hdc, 1 ch-2 sp.
Round 2 Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in next 9 sts,*[hdc, ch 3, hdc] in ch-2 sp, hdc in next 10 sts*, repeat *-* around, end with [hdc, ch 3, hdc], hdc in next st, sl st to beg ch-2.
Totals = 72 hdc, 6 ch-3 sps, 13 sl sts.
One side = 12 hdc, 1 ch-3 sp, 2 sl sts.
End off color, weave in ends.
Only Hexagon #1 is worked all the way through to this point. See Hexagon chart to know if it’s a one sided join, two sided join, or three sided join below.

This is such a fun pattern to make. It’s easy to adjust the size by making more hexagons or less, depending on your needs.
This design looks great in other color options besides the traditional white & red with a green join. It looks great in white & grey with a light blue join, and I’ve also see it in sparkle yarns which is beautiful too. One version was in yellow & brown with a light green join as it reminded her of sunflowers.
