It can also be made in any color combination of your choice to go with your everyday household colors too. It would also be fun to make them for every holiday of the year! This is a simple design that looks great with embellishments or appliques on it too. Some of my testers have examples of what they envisioned, you have to check those out under Ravelry projects. They used different color combinations and appliques, it’s so fun to see the creativeness with this design.
Here is a picture of the Row count for Color A. I purposely made the rows different widths, but kept them uniform. I think it gives it a little interest by having the stripes different sizes.
My Mom gave me her lovely Christmas china which I truly treasure. We use it every year at Christmas, and I really do love it. I’m sentimental about family traditions, as you probably are too, and it brings fond memories of family and friends who have once sat at our table. Now with the addition of these placemats, it brings a new element to our traditional table setting.
Check out the texture that this crochet stitch makes. I just love the Herringbone Half Double Crochet stitch, it’s been one of my favorites and I have several free patterns that use it, see bottom of post for more patterns.
