This small basket makes a great gift for teachers, family and friends. Shown with some hand towels rolled up inside, it would look great with some clear wrapping paper around it with a nice big bow. I like making things that are functional and reusable (I’m a big recycling fan). If brown isn’t your color, it would look great in red, green, purple, blue or any color that you have for your holiday theme. It’s just the right size and doesn’t take too much time to make. Made with cotton yarn and knowledge of counted cross stitch is recommended. If you’re new to it, I have a tutorial on how to make it. See Tutorial on How To Add Cross Stitch To Your Crochet, Click Here.

Turn Basket inside out, this will become the Right Side. The sc stitches will be lined up on top of each other which will align your cross stitches evenly.
Begin by marking the square dimensions of the counted cross stitch on the basket by counting the number of rows and the stitches and placing one stitch marker on all 4 sides to mark your working area. (15 sts wide by 15 rows high). I place my stitch markers at Row 8 on all four sides, which is the center row of the snowflake.
Starting at the top of the basket, add the cross stitch from top to the bottom.
End of Pattern.
