Granny Rectangle Throw – Free Crochet Pattern
The Granny Rectangle Throw is a free crochet pattern and is a family favorite. We enjoy this at the beach to sit on or cuddle up with when it cools down. Crochet this in no time using chains and double crochet stitches. Scroll down for the written pattern.

The design was started by making a giant granny square. As it grew I decided that I wanted it in the shape of a rectangle. I then crocheted only on two opposite sides to make it longer, without adding more width.
To make this larger you will need more yarn. You can also make this as a scrap buster project using leftover yarns too. Continue the SQUARE section for as wide as you want your throw. Then continue with the RECTANGLE section for the length.

There are a lot of ways to make a granny square. The pattern below is the very basic way I know how to make one. I have video tutorials on different ways of making them too.
