Basket Weave Beanie – Free Crochet Pattern
This pretty Basket Weave Beanie is a combination of Tunisian Crochet and regular crochet stitches! This is a fun project to combine both types of crochet together. This is a very warm beanie hat for the cold weather coming soon. The thermal crochet brim to keep the wind out, combined with the basket weave hat body make for a pretty, textured, and on trend hat!

You can start on the brim first, or the hat body, it doesn’t really matter. Once you get them both made, simply slip stitch them together, cinch up the top, and add your favorite pom pom on top. It really is a fun one to make, and the hard part is what color combination to make!
I made the blue one earlier this year and wore it to the beach. It was wintertime then, and the wind was blowing pretty hard. My ears were warm with the thermal single crochet brim. I love the wool Chic Sheep yarn for the warmth and stitch definition it gives. I have a separate video to show you how to make this stitch.
This main body is made in the Tunisian Basket Weave Stitch. I love the rows of boxes that it makes. If you’re new to this stitch I have a video to show you how to make this stitch too.
Shown below in two color options: Left side is made in Indigo Blue and Leather, while the right side is made in Pearl and Suede.
