How To Crochet Basic Hairpin Lace

Learn how to make the basic hairpin lace loops in this crochet video tutorial. I’ll provide an easy, stitch by stitch tutorial along with my tips below. Watch my other finishing hairpin lace video tutorials for specific stitches or patterns. In this video I’ll be focusing on the loom and how to make the loops.
Using the loom is really fun and a totally different way to crochet. After I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed making the strips of lace.

Stitches used in this tutorial are:
Chain
Single Crochet
Pin it for Later
Tips:
- The amount of loops required may differ than shown in the video, refer to the individual pattern for the stitch count that you need.
- Make a sample strip to practice your tension and working with the loom.
- Keep your tension pulled tight, or the same throughout your strip.
- Tie the beginning tail to the prong that you start your first loop on to mark which side you started with. Make your last loop around the opposite prong.
- Make the same amount of loops on each prong before ending off your strip from the loom.
You will need the following supplies:
Any yarn and corresponding crochet hook.
