How To Crochet The Linen Stitch

In this video tutorial I’ll show you how to crochet the pretty crochet Linen Stitch. It is a dense fabric with rows of alternating “V’s” and is reversible.
It’s an easy pattern one row repeat to make a blankets, garments, accessories and more.
This stitch can be made with any size yarn and corresponding crochet hook. If the yarn is lighter weight, such as fine or DK, it will result in a smaller fabric, and if it is a bulky weight, it will result in a larger fabric. This is a worsted weight #4 yarn with a size H crochet hook.

Linen Stitch
Skill Level: Easy
Supplies:
Yarn: Red Heart With Love, color Iced Aqua
Crochet Hook: US H/8, 5.00 mm
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Yarn needle
Abbreviations: In US Terminology
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
sk – skip
sp(s) – space(s)
st(s) – stitch(es)
Tips:
- Can be made in any size yarn weight for different projects.
- Made in Rows, turn after each row.
- A one Row repeat.
- Place a stitch marker around the beginning chain 2 to mark the space to end your next Row.
- Great fabric for blankets, garments, scarves and accessories.
Stitch multiple: 3 chains
Step 1: Single crochet in 3rd chain from hook, chain one, skip one chain, single crochet in the next chain. The pattern sequence is chain one, skip one chain, and make a single crochet in the next chain, across.
Step 2: Chain two and turn your work, then single crochet in the next chain one space, chain one. The pattern sequence is single crochet in the next chain one space, chain one, across. End with single crochet between the last single crochet stitch and the beginning chain two.
Repeat Step 2 until desired size.
