Alpine Peaks Square – Free Crochet Pattern
The Alpine Peaks Square is an easy pattern with some intermediate stitches to give it that wow factor. Both sides have wonderful texture and you can decide later which side you want as the front or right side. The color possibilities and effects are endless in this design and is a great stash busting crochet square.

General Notes
- Written in US terminology.
- Ch-1 does not count as a stitch.
- Beginning Ch-2 does count as a dc stitch.
- Stitch counts are given at end of Rounds in brackets as (number of stitches).
- Carry the indicated Colors under the next Row, give a tug on the ends of each Row to straighten out the carried yarn, do not carry it across too tightly.
- White (MC) is always the sc rows, every other Row.
- Follow the color sequence or make the center square in a solid color for a more beginner friendly pattern, if you’re new to color changes or carrying yarn.

Notes:
- When starting a Round in a new Color, may use a standing stitch, or sl st and chains to begin, with a slip knot on your hook.
- Adjust the final Round to measure 12×12”. To increase size, add additional Round or change to taller sts. To reduce size, omit a Round or change to shorter sts.
