The granny square is probably one of the first things a new crocheter learns to make. There are so many ways to make them but in this video I’ll demonstrate a more advanced way to make one. You can always change the beginning double crochet to a chain-3 instead, if that’s easier for you, but I hope you’ll give it a try.
Tips:
- Right side is always facing.
- Great way to use up your leftover or stash yarn.
- Add as many rounds as you like to make a pillow cushion or a blanket.
- Each additional Round will increase your stitch count by 12 double crochet stitches, or 1 additional space on each side.
Solid Color Granny Square
The beginning corner will be started, but not completed until you work back around to that same corner, then finish it with a half double crochet stitch. Now your yarn will be in the right spot, so no need to slip stitch into the beginning corner, so fun.
