Moonstone Scarf – Free Crochet Pattern
The Moonstone Scarf, free crochet pattern, is made using the Trinity Stitch. It resembles rows of continuous flowers and is an easy pattern repeat to memorize. Scroll down for the written instructions and a video tutorial on this pretty stitch.

An easy stitch pattern repeat that results in a pretty textured fabric.
I used Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn for this pattern, it’s a medium #4 weight yarn and a size 6.50 mm US/K crochet hook.
Moonstone Scarf
Skill Level: Intermediate
Size: 7″ wide by 60″ long
Supplies:
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Omre, Color True Blue, (1) skein
Yarn Weight: #4 medium, 100% acrylic, 283 g/10 oz, 440 meters/482 yards
Hook: K/10.5 – 6.50 mm
Yarn needle
Gauge/Size: 10 rows X 6 ts = 4 inches
Abbreviations: In US Terminology
beg – beginning
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
sk – skip
sl st – slip stitch
st(s) – stitch(es)
yo – yarn over
Special Stitch:
ts: Trinity Stitch – pull up loop in indicated st, pull up loop in next 2 sts, 4 loops on hook, yo, pull through, ch 1 loosely. See Video Tutorial HERE.
Notes:
- Written In US terminology.
- Worked in rows.
- Stitch counts are in brackets ( ) at the end of each Row.
- Multiple of odd # of sts + 1.
- Made lengthwise, to increase width, add more to beg chains.
Instructions
Ch 24
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *pull up loop in same st, pull up loop in next 2 sts, 4 loops on hook, yo, pull through, ch 1 loosely*, repeat *-* across, do not ch-1 on last st, sc in last st. (11 ts, 2 sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st st, *pull up loop in same st, pull up loop in next 2 sts, 4 loops on hook, yo, pull through, ch 1 loosely*, repeat *-* across, do not ch-1 on last st, sc in last st. (11 ts, 2 sc).
Rows 3 – 160: Repeat Row 2.
Repeat Row 2 until desired length. End off yarn, weave in ends.

Make 6 tassels for each end of scarf, 12 in total. Cut 12” pieces of yarn. For each tassel take 5 strands of yarn and fold in half. Pull folded loop through scarf end and thread tassel ends through the loop, pull tight to make the knot. Evenly place 6 tassels across both ends of the scarf.
