The X-Stitch can be made in single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, or even taller stitches. It’s up to you what stitch you want to “X” or cross. I’ve heard this called several things: Cross Stitch, Criss Cross Stitch, Crossed Stitch to name a few. I prefer to call it an X stitch and it is incorporated in a lot of my designs.
You will need the following supplies:
- small amount of yarn #4 weight.
- crochet hook size H (5.00 mm).
This video will show you how to make the X-Stitch in half double crochet and double crochet stitches. I’ll also show you how to stack the stitches in rows, and then how to stagger them in rows.
Tips:
- When working in rows, start your first x-stitch in the 3rd stitch from your hook.
- One X-stitch uses two stitches from the previous row to complete.
- To stagger your x-stitches, begin with an odd number of stitches.
- To stack your x-stitches, begin with an even number of stitches.
