The color possibilities in this design are endless. I’ve made a bunch of these necklaces in all different colors, now I have one to go with several outfits. They are fun to make as gifts or to sell at craft fairs. These are very lightweight to wear and they do not have any metal findings on them. Just thread and beads, two of my favorite things.
The thread I used is by Scheepjes and is called Maxi Sweet Treat. It’s 100% cotton mercerized thread and comes in a lot of colors, it’s so hard to choose which one to use. The beads I used are size 6.0 and are in one of my favorite colors. I used a steel crochet hook in size 1.

This is a one row pattern and doesn’t take long to make at all, that’s so cool. The only time consuming part is you’ll want to make more than one necklace. When I got my beads out and I saw all the different colors, it sparked my curiosity to see how other color combination would look, so I ended up making a whole bunch of them, they’re so fun to make.

Notes
- Place bead needle onto thread.
- String 110 beads onto thread.
- Push beads up and away from hook so you have room to crochet.
- Make a slip knot to begin.
Row 1: Ch 2, *slide one bead down to hook, ch 1 to secure bead, ch 1 without bead*, repeat *-* until all beads are used, end with ch 2, leave a 4 inch tail.
Straighten work, tie the two ends together, and pull the ties down through the center of your large bead with your crochet hook.
Finishing:
Note:
The finished tassel measures approximately 3 inches.
Use your hand, with fingers spread apart, and wrap the thread around 20 times. Cut the thread in half. Cut another strand of thread to tie the tassel in the middle, make two knots, pull these ties inside your large bead up towards the necklace. Make two knots through the center end of your necklace to secure it to the necklace. Pull the tassel ties back down the center of the large bead. Cut the four ends and tassel to the same length to make them all even. If this part is tricky, I show you how I did it in the video. Hope that helps.
