Skill Level: Intermediate
Size: Finished size 5 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches tall.
Supplies:
Red Heart Super Saver:
Color A (Hunter Green) – 30 Yards
Color B (White)– 10 Yards
Color C (Red) – 10 Yards
Hook – Size J, 6.00 mm
Tapestry Needle
Button
Gauge: 2 Inches after Round 3
I crochet on the loose side, so you may need to go up on the hook size if you crochet tightly. Gauge is not critical to the design.
Abbreviations: In US Terminology
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
st(s) – stitch(es)
Notes:
1. Worked in rows until rows 4-5, which are worked in rounds.
2. Written in US terminology.
3. Chain 3 at beginning of rounds counts as a stitch.
4. Stitch count at the end of each row indicated inside ( ).
Pattern Starts Here
Instructions:
Color A – Ch 29 (leave a 12 inch tail)
Row 1: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch across. (27 dc).
Row 2-3 Ch 3, turn, (counts as first st throughout), 1 dc in each st, sl st to top of beginning ch 3. (27 dc).
Note: Work around entire perimeter for next step, Round 4.
Round 4: Ch 1, turn, *1 sc in each st across, placing 3 sc in each corner, sc evenly along end of rows, 3 sc in corner*, repeat *-* around, ending with sl st to beginning sc. (75 sc). Do not cut yarn.
Using the 12 inch tail, fold in half and match up the stitches. Using the tapestry needle, whip stitch the ends together. End off yarn, weave in end.

Note: Using three Colors A, B and C for edging, untwist the yarn every couple of loops to keep it separated and easier to work with. The current Color on hook is worked in front of the dropped Colors.
Round 5: Pick up Color A (Green) loop, Ch 6, drop loop off hook. Add Color B (White) in next st with sl st, Ch 6, drop loop off hook, push Ch to back. Add Color C (Red) in next st with sl st, Ch 6, drop loop off hook, push Ch to back.
*Color A (Green): pick up loop onto hook, sl st in next st, ch 6, drop loop off hook.
Color B (White): pick up loop onto hook, sl st in next st, ch 6, drop loop off hook.
Color C (Red): pick up loop onto hook, sl st in next st, ch 6, drop loop off hook *
Repeat *-* around to last 3 loops.
To End last 3 chain loops:
Color A – sl st in last open stitch of Round, next to beginning Color A st.
Color B – sl st into base of the first ch 6 st of Color B.
Color C – sl st into base of the first ch 6 st of Color C.
(27 ch 6 loops – 9 loops of each Color).
End off, weave in ends.
