Mini Granny Blanket & Hat Pattern — 16 Comments

  1. I love to crochet. However, my basic pattern is the granny square.
I’ve tried other patterns, but always come back to the granny square.
I’m excited to say I inherited my mom’s yarn and all her crochet hooks.
The hooks range in size from the smallest to the biggest.

    I’m visiting from Friendship Friday

  2. I was just invited to a baby shower which will be in 3 weeks! This will be a perfect addition to my store-bought gift. I love the flower – it adds just the right touch!

  3. I love this! I probably have a silly question though. I assume this is for an infant? But the blanket is so tiny, what do they use it for? I have seen these before and could see a bigger toddler carrying around the blanket for a security blanket. But I don’t know what they do with them for an infant. Obviously I’m not a grandmother yet, lol, but love making the hats for friends. Please enlighten this uninformed crochet lover. Blessings!

  4. Hi Nannette, the size is for newborns but you can make several squares and join them together to make a bigger blanket, or you can keep adding more rows until you have the size you want. I made these for a charity donation who requested memory blankets for families. It would make a perfect size security blanket for toddlers too. Thanks for asking, hope this helps. Have a great day 🙂

  5. I did make the set for a baby shower gift. I made the blanket a bit bigger (24″ x 24″). It was a hit! Thank you, Carolyn, for this lovely idea!

  6. I want to make something ang this is beautiful….look good for me…a beginner!…thank you!
