Simple Spa Cloth Collection #9 – Tunisian Crochet Pattern
The Simple Spa Cloth Collection is designed to make beautiful matching cloths using the Tunisian Simple Stitch. This is a good way to learn new stitches while repeating them. This ninth cloth in the collection features staggered, crossed stitches, which results in a beautiful fabric. It’s easy to make, but looks difficult. Make these as a gift for someone special.

I recommend to start off by making the wash cloth first. That way you can make one from beginning to end and feel accomplished right away. Next, move onto the large cloth to complete the set.
This set is made by using the Tunisian simple stitch, but it’s how many stitches you work and in what order that make this a beauty. I love the result of this stitch combination. This ombre yarn is so cheery and changes colors and the stitches really pop out on this cloth.
I’m in love with the handmade soaps, while at home during the quarantine, my daughter and I made our first batch of rose soaps. It was fun as we experimented with colors and rose petals. You can check out the video tutorial here.
Here is a look at the back of both cloths below. It has rows of ridges going across.

Notes:
1. Worked in Rows.
2. Use an Afghan/Tunisian crochet hook.
3. Do not turn, Right Side (RS) is always facing you.
4. The stitch is the same as a tss except you go under two bars at the same time, yo, pull up a loop, then go back to the first vertical bar of the two, and tss again. This makes the X or cross stitch look to the fabric.
