Laurel Hill Crochet Hook Review
The Laurel Hill crochet hooks are beautiful! I received one as part of the 2019 International Crochet Month Designer Showcase. I was absolutely thrilled with this hook when it arrived!
I’ve recently been introduced to the Laurel Hill premium crochet hooks. I received this one pictured here, in size “L” as part of the CGOA Designer Showcase hosted by Underground Crafter. When it arrived, I was surprised how lightweight it was, being a larger hook. The thumb area is really comfortable and I love the tapered, pointed hook on the end, which is a feature I prefer in my hooks.
They come in three different types of wood, Ebony, Nam Oc, and Trai. They are made from recycled wood from
furniture and musical instrument factories. I love that these are made from the leftover scraps of wood. I’m a big fan of recycling and love that this company found a way to create these works of art from something that would have otherwise been thrown away, what a treasure!

Sets, like the one below, include a beautiful multicolored organza silk case to protect your gorgeous crochet hooks. You can get a variety set, which includes all three types of wood, or you can order a specific wood for all the hooks. The sizes included in a set are D, E, F, G, 7, H, I, J, K, L, M.
I was curious who they named their hooks after, who is Laurel Hill? What I learned is that Laurel Hill is a place, not a person! The company is named after the Laurel Hill Valley in Eugene, Oregon. It is a family run business with two generations involved. I recently watched the Yarn Thing Podcast that they were on with Marly Bird. I learned a lot about their business process, check it out.
They not only offer crochet hooks, but knitting needles too. For those that knit, check out those as well. If you’ve used their products let me know how you like them. They are premium hooks at an affordable price, and I will be ordering more.
Thank you for visiting my blog today and spending some time here. I hope you will stop by often and find many projects that inspire you to get those hooks out and crochet! Stay in touch by signing up for my newsletter and follow me on social media.
