Lace Tree Ornament – Free Crochet Pattern
The Lace Christmas Tree Ornament is a pretty design that combines basic crochet stitches and broomstick lace. This makes a nice ornament for your tree, a beautiful garland, or add one to your gift wrapped package.

This idea came to me recently and I went to work trying to figure out how to make a nice, gradual decrease in broomstick lace. This pattern came together smoothly, once I figured it out, and I’m excited to share it with you.
The yarn in this is Sugar’n Cream in the color Ecru. It’s a medium weight yarn and gives it some structure. You could also use a light weight yarn for a smaller tree too.
Here is a sample trio of lace trees in a light weight #3 yarn and size F/5 3.75 mm crochet hook. These need to be starched though as they don’t hold their shape like the heavier yarn does.
