I’ve heard so much buzz lately about Hobby Lobby, I decided to locate one and go for a visit. My daughter and I drove out last week and it was worth the trip. I was very surprised by how big the store was, and with all the different items they carried. I found some iron on transfers, which I haven’t seen in years, and they had such a big selection. I used to love to embroider when I was growing up. I still have my old hoop, and one more pillowcase to finish to make a set that I started many years ago. The design is peach roses in various sizes with a scalloped edge that I had planned on putting a crochet border on.  Maybe someday I’ll get around to it, now that I’m inspired by these.

Iron on Transfers at Hobby Lobby

We came across some beautiful crochet hooks made of wood. I wanted to get one, they were so pretty.  I use the pencil hold when I crochet and I need that flat area for my thumb. I thought the straight hooks would be better for the knife hold. So I put that one back, and got a new “G” hook instead.  I found some white Sinfonia cotton yarn for a summer hat I’m making too.

Have you ever seen such giant crochet hooks?  These are interesting.

We found out that they carry nylon thread, I was so excited.  My daughter was telling me to calm down in the aisle.  It was nice to see so many colors in person as I usually order it online.  The clerk kept coming by and asking if we needed help, as I was taking photos of hooks, yarn & transfers and going crazy over the thread section!  I was doing just fine and loving it there.

For our first visit, we only saw half the store and only bought a couple things.   I’ve been thinking of some colors of nylon that I didn’t buy but wish I had. I might have to get over there again soon for a nylon thread run, and to see the rest of the store too.
