Gingerbread House Ornament Free Crochet Pattern
The Crochet Gingerbread House Ornament is such a fun project and a great way to add some holiday cheer to your home. This is a fun pattern to make in everyone’s favorite corner-to-corner technique and it uses minimal amounts of yarn. Add some beads, a button, and a ribbon to decorate it however you like. These would make great gifts, a garland or looks great hanging on your tree. I hope you will give this a try.

This fun project is part of the 24 Days of Quickies with Marly Bird and Friends! Each designer will be featuring a pattern that should take one day to complete! It’s perfect for this time of year for those of us making handmade gifts. I’m so honored to be part of the blog hop with my friend Marly!!
The main stitch is the double crochet corner-to-corner technique and includes a step by step video tutorial. This easy pattern is really fun to make and to decorate.
Here is the back of the house, I left it plain.
All the tail ends are placed inside the house to make it appear stuffed. Weaving in the ends is not my favorite part so this makes me happy that I could skip that part.

Place the back side of roof to the front, like a sandwich, RS facing out. Place stitch markers to hold it together, tuck ends into the middle.
Work up one side, seaming both sides together as for house, make the loop at the top, then seam both sides together towards the bottom. Along bottom edge, complete Rows 1 & 2 as for Seaming Roof. End off yarn.
Turn to work along side edge. Match up stitches along both triangles.

SEAM HOUSE & ROOF TOGETHER
Pull all ends into the middle with hook. Match up the Roof clusters to line up with each other.
Place the square house just inside the roof, approximately one cluster inside. Place stitch markers on edge of roof to hold in place.
Color A (Lace)
Cut a long piece of yarn, thread on yarn needle. Start at one corner of roof, make a running stitch evenly across the bottom of both triangles of roof. Sew through the house and the roof across, and end on opposite end of roof corner. End off yarn, weave ends inside roof.
EMBELLISH
I’ve added some sparkly beads to the roof and a snowman button by the door. Then I tied a red ribbon bow to the top.
End of Pattern.
