In this book are most (if not all) of my favorite crochet stitches! If you like my patterns, you will LOVE this book! I received a digital copy of 24 Crochet Hats from Kristin Omdahl to review, and all opinions are my own.
This book contains beautiful designs all with stunning photography. She has written a wonderful, visually stunning book which contains 115 pages. It is available as an autographed paperback or digital e-books on her website, or as a single pattern digital downloads, plus it’s available on Amazon.
It includes the basic crochet stitches, such as single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, etc. Then you get into the more advanced stitches such as broomstick lace, cables, hairpin lace, motifs, tapestry crochet, and floral designs. And to top it off, there is a Tunisian crochet hat as well.

This book includes how to read a crochet pattern and chart, how to check gauge, weaving in your ends, blocking, drying, shaping, yarn substitutions and more! There is something for everyone from beginner to advanced techniques and stitches. She makes it easy with a video tutorial on the stitches to help you make your hat.
Let me show you a few of my favorites, although it was hard to pick just a few! The yarn is gorgeous, the pictures are fabulous, and the designs are pretty.
Silvia
Yarn: Be So Sporty Silver BLING Yarn;Â 300yds (274m) per 4oz (113g); 90 % bamboo / 10% silver; color Indigo, 1 ball, #2 sport weight yarn.
Hook: 3.75 mm.
Silvia is on the cover and is a show stopper for sure. The pattern is sized for babies, kids, women and men. It is worked in the round from the top down in an easy to memorize stitch pattern with lots of texture.
Alexa
Yarn:Be So Cozy Yarn; 65% superwash merino wool / 35% bamboo; 210 yds (192m) per 4oz (113g); color Aqua, 1 ball, #4 worsted weight yarn.
Tunisian Crochet Hook: I/9 (5.5mm)
Alexa is a charming Tunisian Crochet hat, which I love! Worked in a pretty lace stitch and a luxurious yarn, this has comfort, and style that works with just about any outfit.
Desiree
Yarn: Be So Bold Yarn; 184 yds (167m) per 4oz (113g); 75% bamboo / 25% cotton; color Ava’s Isle D’Amour, 1 (1, 1, 2) balls, #4 worsted weight yarn.
Hook: H/8 (5mm).
Desiree is a play on the colors you’ll find in real flowers. The floral stitch pattern and color changes make this a striking hat. Worked top down with a one row repeat, this is easier than it looks, and you’ll be wearing it in no time. The beautiful stitch design in this one caught my eye!
Koko
Yarn: Be So Baby Yarn; 142 yds (130m) per 1.75oz (50g); 100% milk (casein) fiber; color Ecru (A) 1 (1, 2) balls, Gold (B) 1 ball, and Chocolate (C) 1 ball, #3 dk weight yarn.
Hook: E/4 (3.5mm).
Leopard print is trending so much right now and this animal print Tapestry crochet hat is right on point! Made in a dk weight yarn, and is extra warm due to carrying all the colors across each round. Includes a tapestry crochet chart and 60 colors to choose from to make your leopard print unique!
Julian
Yarn: Be So Baby Yarn; 142 yds (130m) per 1.75oz (50g); 100% milk (casein) fiber; color Turquoise, 2 (2, 2) balls each, #3 dk weight yarn.
Hook: G/7 (4.5mm).
Julian is a honeycomb cable hat in my favorite color! Made with front and back post stitches and includes detailed charts and a video on the stitches. I love the diamond or honeycomb design this makes.
Nina
Yarn: Be So Sporty BLING Yarn; 300 yds (274m) per 4oz (113g); 90% bamboo / 10% silver; color Tropical Hot Coral, 1 ball, #2 sport weight yarn.
Hook: D/3 (3.0mm).
Hairpin Lace Loom.
Nina is made in hairpin lace, and is one of my favorite techniques. If you’re wanting to try a small piece of hairpin lace, this is a great option to show off your skills.
These are just some of the hats available in the book. There are so many to choose from, you’ll have to take a look for yourself and pick your favorites out.
