Mini Vacation
My family and I went on a mini vacation a few weeks ago. For me and my daughter it was also a working vacation.  We were in Downtown Los Angeles and the streets are one way and it’s confusing if you don’t know your way around. To keep calm on the way there, I was working on a prototype hat that I had started. It’s designed with a wire brim, and I’ve frogged it numerous times and resized it. Here are some photos of before.Â

I located a yarn store downtown because I wanted to make a silver purse for the Saturday night dinner.  Once we finally found the store and parking, I couldn’t decide what other colors to get. I finally decided on brown, light pink, lavender, black, raspberry, and honeydew with the help of my very patient daughter (kidding)! This was nylon thread heaven overload for me, we were in there for over an hour and I kept picking colors and putting them back, and then picking more colors. I’ll have to go back again when I use up all the colors I bought, which will probably take a year! Here are some photos from the store. Acrylic yarn on the perimeter of the store and all nylon thread in the center on both sides of the aisle! Wow, just wow.

Saturday night dinner was steak & lobster, it’s been years since I’ve had that. I loved the lobster, such a treat! I barely finished the silver purse in time, and I didn’t weave in all the ends or have the tools to line it. But I carried it anyway! All the photos we had taken they either cut off my purse or my matching silver shoes or both. Oh well, you get the idea.
Here are some photos of flowers that were around the hotel.

Here is the night skyline, so beautiful.

Early the next morning my husband and I went to Starbucks. Inside the store they had this beautiful mural on the wall. Once we got outside to sit and enjoy our coffee, I couldn’t help but take another photo of my purse. I love the tassel.
Thanks for reading.
Have a great day!
