In this video tutorial I’ll show you how to crochet the Drunken Granny Stitch. The name is kind of funny as it’s referring to the sideways look of the stitches. Like something is not quite right with it, but that adds to the beauty of this fabric.
This stitch can be made with any size yarn and corresponding crochet hook. If the yarn is lighter weight, it will result in a smaller fabric, and if it is a bulky weight, it will result in a larger fabric. This is a worsted weight #4 yarn with a size H crochet hook.

Supplies:
Red Heart With Love, color Cameo
Furls Crochet Hook: US H/8, 5.00 mm
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Yarn needle
Abbreviations & Stitches used: In US Terminology
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sk – skip
sl st – slip stitch
st(s) – stitch(es)
yo – yarn over
TIPS:
- Can be made in any size yarn weight for different projects.
- Made in Rows, turn after each row.
- A one Row repeat.
- Makes a reversible fabric.
- The slanting of the Rows makes it look harder than it is.
