CGOA – Crochet Classes
I recently attended the CGOA Conference in San Diego. Â It was everything and more than I expected. Â Here is a recap on my crochet journey and some classes I took.
I’m a member of CGOA, Crochet Guild of America, and every year they hold a conference for learning and shopping. This year it was in San Diego, California at The Town and Country Resort.  The conference is well organized and the committee makes you feel very welcome.  The grounds were very pretty with lots of flowers.
Â
One of the classes I took was The Complete Sock Class with Karen Whooley. Â I’ve always wanted to make crocheted socks, and I got to learn from the expert herself! Â I loved this class and my sock came out exactly the right size. Â Now to make the other one?! Â Â Â
My attempt at a selfie! Â This was the best photo out of several tries, still blurry and can’t see the sock (sad, I know). Â Karen was so great to keep trying to get a good one. Â By this time we were cracking up. Â I really enjoyed meeting her and taking this class!
I also took another class called The Shell Game taught by Karen Klemp.  She was amazing, and provided pages & pages of different shell variations, increasing and decreasing them, and more.  I gravitated towards the unusual designs and I’ve incorporated one of them in a new design coming out next year. Â
I also took the Master’s Class which was taught by several instructors and was full of invaluable information. I met a lot of friends in this class. Â
My last class was The Broomstick Lace Flower’s class with Jenny King. Â I love flowers, so this class was perfect for me! Â She was fantastic, and taught us how to join them as you go and weave in the ends. Â The flowers turned out very pretty, and are open and lacy, loved her class!
Each class was different and each had its own intensity. Â I learned a lot and enjoyed all my classes. Â Stay tuned for a few more upcoming posts about my CGOA experiences. Â
Thank you for reading.
Have a great day,
