Happy New Year!
To start off the New Year, my daughter cut off her lovely hair for Locks of Love! Â She sent in 11 inches for them to make a wig for children who have lost their hair due to serious illnesses. Â To learn more and donate to Locks of Love, click HERE.
I’m so proud of her for doing this, her heart is so big and full of thoughtfulness towards others! She has done this before in June 2013 and has been planning this cut ever since. Â
This time, we went to our friend, Yve Hart, her studio is so cool and the vibes are creative and relaxing. Â She had a nice scented candle burning, music playing and delicious hot tea for us. Before you even get inside, there is a cool sign outside that says “Leave Your Worries at the Door.” Â For inspiration, recipes and more go to Yve’s blog, click Here or Facebook page, click Here.
My daughter was excited to get it cut and have an actual style again. Her hair was SO long and she was ready for a change. Â
I can’t tell you how proud I am and honored to be her Mom. She is an inspiration to me and I love her so much.Â
Still fits in a ponytail or a pretty braid for soccer.
Her hair grows really fast and will be long again soon so she can donate again.Â
Â
Happy New Year from our family to yours!
Thanks for reading!
Have a great day!
 Carolyn 🙂
I think it is great that your daughter donated her hair to locks of love, I am sure that it will be very appreciated by the children it will help.
Pat
Thank you Pat! 🙂
That’s a nice donation
Thank you Leli! 🙂
My daughter (an adult and independent) also did this a number of years ago. Last year she had her head shaved and raised more than $2,000 (through pledges) to benefit St. Baldrick’s, to fight childhood cancer.
So I totally understand the pride you are feeling. This was done, by the way, in the middle of winter – on the East Coast….I crocheted several beanies for her to keep her then bald head warm!
The pride of being a Mom to a daughter (or son!) who makes such sacrifices to help others makes up for all the sleepless nights, and those ‘teen terror’ moments we all go through!
That is wonderful Carol, your daughter is so brave! It’s so great how many people are supporting these organizations. Thanks for your lovely comment! 🙂
