Beginner Tunisian Rib Scarf – Free Crochet Pattern
The Beginner Tunisian Rib Scarf is a great project to get the feel of Tunisian crochet. Learn this technique by practicing the repetitiveness of the stitch. It’s easy to make, but looks difficult plus there’s a video on the stitching. Make one as a gift for someone special.

The Tunisian Rib Scarf is a fun pattern to make leaving the loops on your crochet hook as you would when knitting, and then working them off the crochet hook to complete the row. Tunisian crochet is worked in two steps to complete one row. I use (A) and (B) to identify each step within a row. Together, these two steps make up one row, so for counting your rows, you need to complete both steps.
This scarf is made by using two Tunisian crochet stitches in a combination of Tunisian Simple Stitch and Tunisian Twisted Stitch. I love the result of this combo with the rows of vertical lines looking like V’s on the front. See the crochet video for the Tunisian Rib Stitch tutorial.
We had so much fun photographing this one! It really came in handy at the beach as it was cold when we were there! Check my Instagram for more photos!
