Thermal Twist Headband – Free Crochet Pattern
The Thermal Twist Headband is a free crochet pattern that will keep your ears extra warm. There is a crochet video to show you this easy stitch, a one row repeat, and another video on how to sew the seam into a twist. This is a great way to learn a new stitch and make a wonderful item while you practice. I hope you love it as much as I do!

When I learned the thermal single crochet stitch I knew right away I had to make a headband with it. This stitch is double the thickness of a regular single crochet stitch, but is still stretchy without any holes. It’s an amazing result and I’ve make several already. I must warn you though, the progress is slow with this as it doesn’t grow very fast, but the result is worth it!
My new favorite technique is the twist on the front, I really love this. This attractive twist is made by sewing the two edges together which is actually the seam. The rest of the ear warmer is seamless, it looks the same on the sides and the back. I try to design so there are no visible seams, whenever possible.
The thermal single crochet stitch is really pretty and has an amazing result. The front of the stitches are hidden “inside” and both the Right Side and the Wrong Side show the back of the stitches making it a reversible fabric. It’s very thick and is perfect for an ear warmer, headband or hat. You could also use it in pot holders, blankets, or anything you like.
