Easy Melt And Pour Soap Tutorial
In this video tutorial, you will learn how to make easy melt and pour soap with rose petals and coloring. These rose soaps are so beautiful, easy to make, and don’t take a lot of time to complete. They are functional as well as pretty and will add something special to those crochet spa cloth sets!

Tips:
Before filling the mold, place a small cutting board underneath it. The silicone mold is floppy and is hard to move once it is full of liquid soap.
The coloring looks really dark in the bottles, but when you drop it in, it is very light. Go slow and be patient with the color. I still advise adding one or two drops at a time.
If you over fill the mold and it runs over, it’s okay. When it’s hardened you can break off the excess soap around the edges.
The rose petals and essential oils are a personal choice. You don’t need to include them.
Have fun with these, experiment with color, and make it a family craft. It’s really fun!
Supplies:
You will need to purchase the following items. I bought these from my local craft store or you can also get them on Amazon.
- Goats Milk by Life of the Party Artisan, 32 oz, 2 lbs.
- Silicone mold – Wilton’s
- Coloring, Lilac, Peach, Seafoam by Life of the Party Artisan.
- Dried rose petals
- Essential oils
These items I had at home:
- Recycled spaghetti jar
- Cutting boards, one small, one large
- Utensils for cutting and stirring
These rose soaps measure approximately 3 x 2 x 1.5 inches when completed.
These handmade soaps were the inspiration behind my Simple Spa Cloth Collection, a Tunisian crochet pattern series. They feature a small wash cloth and a larger hand cloth in different Tunisian crochet stitches. My friend made me some beautiful soaps that sparked the whole series.
Making the Soap:
Step 1: Cut the soap into cubes, place 8 cubes into the jar. Melt them in the microwave until melted.
We made 3 roses at a time. Double the soap to 16 cubes for 6 roses at a time.
Step 2: Stir in the coloring. Add one or two drops to start to see how strong the color is. Keep adding until desired color is reached.
Step 3: Add in essential oils, if desired.
Step 4: Place rose petals in bottom of mold. This is optional.
Step 5: Gently and slowly pour the soap into the molds. Fill to the top of the mold.
Step 6: Refrigerate for 30 to 40 minutes, or until hardened.
Step 7: Pop the soaps out of the mold.
Throw away the spaghetti jar when you’re done.
When I found this rose mold at my local craft store at 70% off, I had to buy it. Later I learned that it is exactly what I needed to make my own soaps. I finally had a chance to make them with my daughter, and it was a lot of fun.
