Vogue Knitting Live – Pasadena 2016
Vogue Knitting Live was recently held in Pasadena, California. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend this year. I had a blast and was sad to leave on when it was over. I took lots of classes and learned a lot, some knitting and some crochet.
Here is a picture of the Exhibit Hall Building where they held the Marketplace and some of the classes. I’ve never been to Pasadena and it was a pretty town. The hotel and classes were all within walking distance of each other.
I know, this picture is kind of random, but I love big detailed doors. These were next door on a beautiful building. The architecture was so pretty on the surrounding buildings. We had to pass by to get to the other conference area.
Back inside, these gorgeous sweaters were at the Marketplace shopping area to greet us. The display looked so pretty, I love the colors and the uniformity of the display.
Some more pretty sweaters that were in the Marketplace at one of the booths. There was so much to look at, it was very overwhelming.
The art section was one of my favorite areas of the event. This beautiful display was created by Ashley Blalock. Giant red doilies were created to make this work of art.
Here is the display by Jacqui Fink, using the extra large yarns.
My favorite art display was by Pat Ahern, crochet artist! His freeform designs and creations are just amazing! Here is his Popeye costume that he crocheted and wore to work for Halloween. His crochet journey is very sweet and he was there with his Mom.
Onto the Fashion Shows! Here is the grand finale of the Wrapped in Color Fashion Show. It was nice to sit back and rest from walking around the shopping area and watch the events.
Here is the grand finale of the Vogue Knitting Fashion Show. I spy a familiar Star Motif Dress by Jenny King here! It was the final design to the fashion show and I was so excited to see it up on stage. The model is so pretty and it fit her perfectly.
The highlight of the conference was meeting new people and learning new things. I’ve been adopted by Nancy, and I am yarn sisters with Carrie, and got to meet Steven Be! He is magnetic! He taught me to cast on and how to use color in my designs. I got to wear his Diamonds and Platinum Ponchini– love it!
Thanks for reading!
Have a great day,
