Striped Dishcloth – Free Crochet Pattern
 The Striped Dishcloth is a free crochet pattern made with cotton yarn for a quick project. A great way to learn a new stitch and practice your tension. Make these in your favorite colors, and are a great gift.

Skill Level: Easy
Size: 9” wide x 8″ tall
Supplies:
Yarn: Sugar ‘N Cream
Color A – Off-White (35 yards)
Color B – Turqoise (10 yards)
Color C – Green (10 yards)
Yarn weight: WW #4
Hook: 6.00 mm [US J-10]
Yarn needle
Gauge: 10 rows and 6 V stitches = 4 inches
Abbreviations: In US Terminology
ch – chain
hdc – half double crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
sp – space
st(s) – stitch(es)
Special Stitches & Placement:
V-Stitch:
2 hdc in same space, worked in-between the 2 hdc sts (v-stitch) from previous row.
Notes:
1. Color sequence: Rows 1-4 Off White; Rows 5-6 Purple; Rows 7-8 Off White, Rows 9-10, Turquoise, Rows 11-12 Off White; Rows 13-14 Green, Rows 15-18 Off White.
2. Ch 2 counts as a stitch.
3. Stitch count in ( ) at end of the Row/Round.
Pattern Starts Here
Instructions:
Ch 25
Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch across. (24 sc).
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, *skip 1 st, 2 hdc in next st*, repeat *-* across ending with skip 1 st, 1 hdc in last st. (11 v-stitches, 2 hdc sts).
Row 3: Ch 2, turn, *1 v-stitch in the center of previous row v-stitch*, repeat *-* across, end with 1 hdc in last st. (11 v-stitches, 2 hdc sts).
Row 4-17: Repeat Row 3.
Row 18: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st across. (24 sc). Do not end off yarn.
Border:
Round 1: Ch 1, turn, sc evenly around perimeter of washcloth, place 2 sc in each corner. (52 sc).
End off yarn, weave in ends.
