September Flowers Of The Month
It’s time for Flowers of the Month. Every Monday I share a flower picture on my Facebook and Instagram page, and featured this month are hot pink Gladiolas, yellow Daisies, orange Sunflowers, and pink Oleander. Here is the story behind these beauties, hope you enjoy…

Earlier this Spring, I bought a few Gladiola bulbs and planted them in my garden. This is one that turned out to be Hot Pink! It bloomed very nicely and lasted a long time. The other ones didn’t turn out as nice, I’m hoping next year they will be stronger. I thoroughly enjoyed this one though and I love this shade of pink.
Recently, my daughter asked me to go with her to her new school to find her new classrooms. We ended up walking around the campus for about three hours! I took lots of pictures of flowers, but this pink Oleander is my favorite. I’ve always admired them planted along the sides of the roads and wondered why they weren’t more popular in landscapes for homes. Well, looking it up, it appears they are poisonous to humans, who knew?! No wonder I don’t see them in yards. They do have beautiful colored flowers and make a nice shrub.
I’ve been busy lately making my Block Stitch Dishcloths. I wanted a flower to add with some of my pattern pictures, so I went outside and found these little mini yellow Daisies that matched the yellow yarn. I always have fun taking pictures of my work with flowers, or just pictures in general.
Even though we’re having a heat wave right now, Fall is in the air somehow. Maybe it’s the adds for Halloween and Fall decor, but Sunflowers always represent it to me as well. The stores are full of them and I couldn’t resist taking a picture of these beauties! I love this burnt orange color.
That’s all for the September Flowers of the Month. Looking forward to sharing with you what flowers I find next time. Here is a pretty Plumeria picture from last month. Click Here to read my August Flowers of the Month, and see all the featured flower finds from Hawaii!
