Lovely Flowers – September
For the month of September I shared some flower photos on my Facebook page.  Here is the story behind the photos…
The story behind these flower photos is really about a special lady named Bonnie, whom I met with briefly one day by chance. She is the Mother of my friend, Julie, who had encouraged me to start The Purple Poncho. Â Bonnie & I had really connected over our love of crafting and I felt like I had known her for a long time, we spoke the same craft language. Shortly after that, she became ill and passed away unexpectedly. Bonnie was known for her quilting, sewing and knitting talents. Her collection of yarn was top-notch, along with her books and needle sets. When Julie gave them to me I was so choked up and honored to receive them. Â
I use the hooks everyday and have her little hook holder on my end table, it looks like a miniature brown bag, but it’s made of ceramic. Â I think of her often. Â
Â
I bought this bouquet of flowers and photographed them with her crochet hooks.  Here are some pretty little daisies with an assortment of hooks.  I’ve never worked with wooden or small plastic crochet hooks before.  I love the wooden one with the detailed carving on the end.

A pretty pink lily with an assortment of pretty pink hooks. The Clover “F” hook is one of my favorites.
Bonnie had several WIPs going and I hope to finish them in her honor. I will need some guidance from my knitting friends as I’m not familiar with some of the fancy stitches. She touched my life by inspiring me, and my daughter, to learn how to knit. She has made a big impact on my family with only a brief introduction and chat. She is an inspiration and is truly missed. Â
Thank you for reading.
Have a great day,
