Ombre Fingerless Gloves – Free Crochet Pattern
The Ombre Fingerless Gloves are great for a beginner and make a nice solid accessory, no holes, just warmth. The simple stitch, and stitch placement, make for an interesting and classic look. The lovely, smooth transition of colors in this yarn is beautiful, made with Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn. These are great for texting and typing.

Small: 50 yards each glove (100 yds for both gloves)
Medium: 55 yards each glove (110 yds for both gloves)
Large: 60 yards each glove (120 yds for both gloves)
X-Large: 65 yards each glove (130 yds for both gloves)
Gauge: 15 rows and 15 sc sts = 4 inches

Special Stitches & Placement:
Reverse Single Crochet: rsc – insert hook in previous st, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull through both loops on hook. (1 rsc made). See Video: How To Make A Reverse Single Crochet Stitch.
Notes:
- Worked in the round.
- Rounds 2-25 are worked in the back loop only.
- Do not join rounds.
- Written in US terms.
- Stitch count as follows: S (M,L,XL).
- Repeat Round is in red font to easily identify it.
Pattern Starts Here
Instructions:
Measure your dominant hand around the knuckles to determine which size to make. Check your gauge before beginning pattern. Example shown in size Large.
Round 1: Fsc 22 (26,30,34), do not join. Place stitch marker in 1st fsc. Use the tail to attach the bottom edge together by weaving it into the opposite end. 22 (26,30,34 fsc).
OR
Alternate Round 1: Ch 23 (27,31,35), sl st to beginning ch, careful not to twist ch, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each remaining st across, sl st to beginning sc, ch 1. Place stitch marker in 1st sc. 22 (26,30,34 sc).
Note: Beginning with Round 2 work in Back Loop Only, leave stitch marker in first stitch of Round 1 throughout to mark starting point. Do not join rounds.
Round 2: 1 sc in each st around in back loop only, to stitch marker. 22 (26,30,34 sc).
Round 3 – 19: Repeat Round 2.
Note: The stitch placement of the first and last sc st of the thumb opening is through both loops to make it more secure in Round 20. Then continue in back loop only for the rest of the pattern.
Round 20: 1 sc in next st in both loops, ch 5 (5,6,6), skip 5 (5,6,6) sts, 1 sc in next st in both loops, 1 sc in each remaining st around in back loop only. 17 sc, 5 chs (21,26,29 sc; 5,6,6 chs).
Round 21: 1 sc in each ch st, 1 sc in each st around in back loop only. 22 (26,30,34 sc).
Round 22-25: Repeat Round 2. Continue to edging, do not end off.
Edging:
Note: edging is worked in both loops.
Round 1: Rsc in each st around, ending with sl st to top of beginning rsc. 22 (26,30,34 rsc sts). End off yarn, weave in ends.
