Flower Granny Square – Free Crochet Pattern
The Flower Granny Square is full of texture and raised stitches to give this flower a 3-D effect. Depending on where you place your stitch, it can make your fabric lift off the other rows, it’s really fun. I hope you give this square a try, it’s so versatile and would make a beautiful blanket.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Measurements: 12 inches tall by 12 inches wide.
Supplies:
Yarn: Worsted Weight #4
Color A – Turquoise
Color B – Purple
Color C – White
Color D – Coral
Hook: 5.00 mm [US H]
Tape Measure
Yarn needle
Gauge:
End of Row 5 = 4.5 inches
End of Row 8 = 7.5 inches
End of Row 12 = 12 inches
I crochet on the loose side, so you may need to go up on the hook size if you crochet tightly. Gauge is not critical to the design. You can make adjustments to the size on the last one or two rounds by making them single crochet rounds (if yours is too big) or double crochet rounds (if yours is too small) to get it to the 12 inch square size.

Notes:
1. Ch 2 and Ch 3 count as a stitch throughout.

3. Written in US terminology.
4. Instructions are written with chain stitches to begin each round OR another option to start the round with a standing hdc or standing dc in place of the ch2 or ch3.
5. If you’re using the standing stitches at the beginning of the round, you will end the round by placing a slip stitch to the beginning standing stitch (instead of a sl st to top of beginning ch stitch).
