A Crochet Tutorial on how to make a slip knot. It’s the very basic start to crocheting and sometimes overlooked in the steps to crochet. So here’s my way to make a slip knot to get you started. Here we go…

Instructions:
1. Make a loop with the yarn by folding it over, leaving a small tail.
2. Place the crochet hook into the loop.
3. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the loop on the hook.
4. Pull the yarn tight to form the slip knot under the hook.
You’re now ready to start your crochet pattern. The tension of the loop on your hook should be loose enough that it slides easily on your hook, but not too loose to fall off. I hope this tutorial has been helpful and you’re on your way to start crocheting.
