Celestial Ear Warmer – Free Crochet Pattern
The Celestial Ear Warmer is an easy design and great for beginners. The stitch is repetitive and the yarn does all the work. Made with Red Heart Stellar yarn, it is a fast project to make and wear right away. Here we go…

Celestial Ear Warmer
Skill Level: Easy
Adult Sizes:
Child – 18 inches
Adult – 21 inches
Supplies:
Yarn: Red Heart Stellar – Color Celesital
Yarn weight: Super Bulky #6; 80 yards, 73 meters
Child-Adult – 1 skein
Hook – Size 8.0 mm (US L) or size to obtain gauge
(3) Buttons – Size 5/8 inch (16 mm) each
Sewing needle
Sewing thread
Yarn needle
Gauge: 7 dc and 4 rows = 4 inches
Abbreviations: In US Terminology
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
st(s) – stitch(es)
Notes:
1. Chains at beginning of Row count as a stitch
2. Ear warmer is worked in the round.
3. Buttons are optional.
4. Leave a long 3 foot tail before starting pattern.
Instructions:
Ch 34 (38)
Row 1: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch across. (32,36 dc).
Round 2: do not turn, continue around – 1 dc in each st. (32,36 dc).
Round 3-7: Repeat Row 2. (32,36 dc).
Round 8: 1 hdc in each st around, ending with sl st in last 2 sts. (30,34 hdc, 2 sl sts).
Finishing:
Note: If the ear warmer is loose fitting, sc with a tighter tension. If the ear warmer is tight, sc with a loose tension.
Using long 3 foot tail, pull loop up in the end of Row 1. 1 sc in each st around, ending with sl st to beginning sc. (32,36 sc).

End off, weave in ends.
Embellish: (optional)
Sew 3 buttons onto the ear warmer as decorative embellishment.
