Boutique Time!
Last weekend I attended a Mother’s Day Boutique at a friend’s house. She really goes all out in preparing for it by emptying everything out to make room for all the vendors. She is amazing. All the proceeds go to Cancer Awareness, so it is great to participate in this event and make new friends too.
To prepare for this, I made a new earring display out of a burlap frame and added some black nylon material around it that I found at Joann’s. It has tiny holes in it, so it worked perfect to hold the earrings.
I also tried to decoupage one of my Styrofoam heads. It came out just okay, I should’ve read up on it before I was so gung-ho to get started. I have the materials to do another one and can’t wait to start on it. I also made a white hat with the wire brim which I LOVE! I can’t wait to design more hats with the wire brims, it is totally my style.
I also debuted my latest purse design there, the peach purse. It was a huge hit! I just received my latest shipment of nylon and can’t wait to make this in other colors too. This is the perfect size for your phone, keys and lipstick. It measures approximately 9″ wide X 7.5″ long, excluding the handle.
I met another lady who has a wine of the month club, and she put my wine cozies with her display, I couldn’t have planned that any better if I tried!
Hope you get some ideas for your booth here. I’m constantly trying to improve my 6 foot booth area! The day turned out great.
Thanks for reading!
Have a great day!
Carolyn 🙂
love looking at all the things you made for your booth. I kept going back and looking at everything, to make sure I didn’t miss something
Hi Darla, I’m glad you like it. I enjoyed making my props, I just waited too long to get started and stayed up practically all night finishing them up. Staple gun at 1 am is not good for many reasons, lol 🙂
Love the hat do you have a pattern for it. My mom has been battling skin cancer on her face. Chemo cream on it and it gets so raw would love to make this one or even a wider one. Could you please help and do a video or the pattern. Thank you so much. You my friend are one talented lady and should be very proud of yourself. Thanks again Cindy
Nice ideas and beautiful work. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Cindy, I do not have the pattern yet, but I will be making more of these and will write it out as I go next time. This one was a prototype, and I agree, a wider one will be better. I have had melanoma three times, once on my face too, so I am very conscious of sun exposure and skin cancer as well. One of the reasons I want to make more of these hats. I hope your Mom is better soon. Thank you!
Thank you Sue! Have a great day 🙂
